One of the most consistent complaints about web service providers is that their solutions do not always allow people to make personal adjustments to their own websites without having coding knowledge. It works against the advantages of the web in that internet audiences do not typically resonate with stale and dated content, and being forced to rely on designers and developers to implement updates is way more expensive than it needs to be. In the wine industry consumers want to be kept in the loop regarding the most recent product releases, and the updating process becomes important at least on an annual basis.
Other industries have been able to take advantage of robust Content Management Systems (CMS) that allow people without coding knowledge to personally maintain website content. However, it is a costly process that usually necessitates hefty licensing fees and a non-specialized approach. We have built custom CMS systems for websites created for Fortune 100 companies, which has enabled us to repurpose our code base accordingly for the wine industry. This gives us the ability to view our solutions as a "technology co-op", one that gives accessibility to those that might not have had the opportunity otherwise.
